With all our instructors being fully qualified we are able to provide a wide range of courses to suit all ages and sailing levels. We have courses for juniors, adults, family and group bookings.
Based in the picturesque fishing village of Port Erin on the south west coast of the Island.
This is an introductory course, covering the minimum knowledge required to get afloat. Under the guidance of our instructors you will discover the basics of dinghy sailing in our 420 sailing dinghies which are designed to be sailed by two adults. By the end of this two-day course you will have a basic understanding of boat handling techniques and background knowledge. Upon successful completion of the course you will receive the RYA Dinghy Sailing Level 1 certificate. It is recommended that all participants consolidate this short introduction with the Basic Skills Level 2 course.
Course content includes:
- Clothing and kit briefing
- Obtaining weather information and finding wind direction
- How to rig a dinghy
- Launch and recovery
- Sailing the boat across the wind
- Tacking to turn the boat around
- Sailing upwind and downwind
- Gybing to turn the boat around

The course fee is £209 per person, we provide the boats, wetsuits, buoyancy aids, RYA logbooks, certificates and refreshments. You will need to bring suitable footwear which can get wet, a towel and change of clothes.
The course runs from 10am until 5pm on both days
