2010 Springtime courses

The season is fast approaching (even though we still have snow on the hills!) and our 2010 courses start in earnest next month.

The first scheduled course is the RYA Basic Navigation and Safety Course on 6th and 7th March. This course is aimed at small boat users and is an introduction to basic elements of chartwork, tides, GPS use, weather forecasts, anchoring, journey planning, collision regulations, safety considerations and much more. It is an enjoyable shorebased course which will increase your confidence on the water. The course runs from 9.30am – 5pm on both days. The fee is £169 per person and includes VAT, all course notes, refreshments and certificates.

On Saturday 13th March we have a VHF Radio course running from 9am until 5pm. This course provides the knowledge, confidence and legal documentation required to operate a marine VHF/DSC radio. The fee is £99 per person and includes, VAT, course notes and refreshments throughout the day. We have a very limited number of places currently left on this course.

Our Youth Sailing Weeks start at Easter! We will be running two courses this holiday on the weeks beginning 5th April and 12th April. Places for both these weeks are filling up pretty quickly. We have a Stage 2 / 3 week during the first week and for the second week we have a mixture of beginners places available and places for Stage 3 and above sailors too (who will probably be doing a bit a racing during the week too). The course runs from 10am until 5pm Monday to Friday fees are £265 per person, we provide boats, wetsuits, buoyancy aids, certificates and RYA Logbooks for all students. Summer courses are also filling up quickly, so please contact me soon if you would like to book a place on any of our Youth Sailing Weeks.

The first Powerboat Level 2 course of the season will be over the weekend of 17th and 18th April. The course runs from 10am until 5pm on both days. We provide boats, lifejackets, course notes, logbooks and certificates for all students. The fee is £254 per person.
